• High-/Low-Level Inputs: The ACX-300.4 includes four built-in 12" RCA inputs that can accept either high- or low-level input signals. If running high-level signals, RCA to speaker-wire adapters must be used (sold separately), or the RCA connectors must be cut off and the bare-ended wire used.

  • Low-Level Input Range: 500mV - 6Vrms
  • High-Level Input Range: 1Vrms - 12Vrms

• Input Mode: A 2-way switch lets you select whether one pair or both pairs of input channels will be used to feed all four output channels.

• Crossovers: The ACX-300.4 includes two 12 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley high-pass filters, one for Channels 1 & 2 and one for Channels 3 & 4. Both use a 3-position switch to change the crossover point with a choice of  80Hz, 120Hz, or Bypass.

• Gain Maximized LEDs: Each pair of channels on the amp includes its own Gain control to properly set the overall output level. A Maximized LED indicator is provided for each pair of channels, illuminating to let you know when the output signal has reached its optimum performance level, helping to avoid running a distorted signal to your speakers.

• GTO (Great Turn On) Signal Sense: If you are connecting the amplifier to a factory stereo, or an aftermarket unit without preamp outputs and a remote turn-on lead, the GTO Signal Sense circuitry can turn on the amplifier when an audio signal is detected on either the line-level or speaker-level inputs. After a period of time with no signal input, the amp will turn itself off.

• All-Weather Construction: The ACX-300.4 amp has been constructed to withstand outdoor environments and carries an IPX6 waterproof rating, making it impervious to weather. A removable cover-plate on top of the amp protects the controls and LED indicators from dust and moisture ingress. The cover-plate screws require a 2.5mm hex bit for removal (not included). All wire harnesses on the amp are built-in for added weather resistance:

  • Audio Inputs: Four RCA jacks on 12" input cables are provided, each with protective plastic caps.
  • Speaker Outputs: Two 12" 4-wire output harnesses are terminated in waterproof connectors. Matching 7" harnesses with bare-ended 18ga. wires are included.
  • Power/Ground/Remote: A 12" section of 10ga. power and ground wire terminates in a waterproof connector, with matching 7" harness and bare-ended wire. An additional empty power/ground connector is provided, letting you build your own harness to match the amp's power/ground connector. A bare-ended 12", 18ga. remote turn-on wire is provided in the power/ground harness.

   

• Mounting: The AudioControl ACX-300.4 features built-in mounting flanges on either end of the amp, with two pre-drilled holes in each, allowing the amp to be mounted in a variety of locations. Four 3/4" screws are provided for mounting.

• Controls:

  • 3-Band Graphic EQ: Three rotary knobs let you adjust the signal +/-12 dB at 125 Hz, 1.25 kHz, and 10 kHz. There's an indent at each knob's center position so it's easy to return to the flat setting.
  • Para-Bass: Para-Bass is a single band, parametric equalizer for the bass output. Like the three graphic EQ bands, the adjustment range is +/-12 dB; the center frequency is continuously variable from 40 Hz to 80 Hz.
  • Equalize: A push-button is used to activate the EQ section; when Off, the EQ will be bypassed.
  • Crossover: The ACX-3.2 has a built-in high-pass/low-pass crossover with dedicated On/Off switch on top of the processor. A corresponding frequency dial lets you select the cutoff frequency with a range of 30-300 Hz. The Linkwitz-Riley crossover has a 24 dB/octave slope. When the crossover On/Off switch is On, high-pass frequencies are applied to the front and rear line outputs while the low-pass is applied to the subwoofer output. If the crossover is Off, a full range signal will be sent to the front and rear outputs and the subwoofer output will still be crossed over at the selected cutoff point.
  • Volume: If you choose, you can adjust the system volume using the ACX-3.2's volume knob. This allows you to leave the source volume at it's maximum un-clipped level, resulting in the best signal to noise ratio and dynamic range output from the source.
  • Subwoofer Level Control: The relative subwoofer volume is adjusted using the rotary Sub Level control on the front panel.
  • Fader: Because there is only one stereo line input and both front and rear line outputs, the front panel fader knob is needed to adjust the relative front and rear volume.
  • Input Level & Indicator: The input signal level for the left and right channels is set using the Level dial, providing 0 dB to +20 dB of gain. A corresponding Maximized LED starts to flicker as you reach the maximum unclipped voltage.
    
    

• PTT Microphone: The ACX-3.2 includes a hand-held Push-to-Talk microphone that lets you communicate through either the front or front & rear outputs. The paging feature is ideal for communicating with wakeboarders or other boaters, food truck order paging, or keeping in touch with other riders while off-roading. A rear-panel Mic Gain dial lets you adjust the signal balance between the mic and your audio.

• Line Driver: To achieve the best possible signal to noise ratio and dynamic range, the built-in line driver can increase the head unit's output voltage up to 20 dB (up to 7 volts RMS/9.5 volts peak).

• Connections:

  • Audio Inputs: A single pair of RCA jacks provides the signal input for the processor.
  • Audio Outputs: Three pairs of RCA jacks (Front, Rear, and Subwoofer) provide the outputs for running to outboard power amplifiers.
  • Terminal Block: The power/ground/remote/illumination connections terminate in a removable terminal block that plugs into the rear of the processor and can accommodate wire up to 16-gauge.
    
    

• Additional Settings: Four jumper settings can be accessed by removing the top cover of the ACX-3.2.

  • Balanced Input: Using the balanced differential input circuit may cancel noise picked up in the transmission line between the ACX-3.2 and the source unit. Options inlcude Balanced (default) and Unbalanced.
  • Mic Signal Rounting: Determines if microphone siganls are fed to the Rear Outputs (default) or Front & Rear Outputs.
  • Ground Isolation: The power supply ground is switchable, in case of ground loop noise. The factory position is fully isolated (typically the best choice), but can be changed to Ground or 200Ω.
  • Illumination: The outer ring of each knob is lit whenever the illumination terminal is energized. The color is switchable between blue and red. The illumination wire can be connected to a factory dash light dimmer, letting you dim the illumination on the processor along with the dash lights.
    
    

• Mounting: The Audio Control ACX-3.2 includes two mounting brackets that allow the processor to be mounted on top of or underneath a console or dash. The PTT microphone also includes a mounting bracket, letting you keep the mic within easy reach.

• AccuBASS: The patented AccuBASS processing circuit compensates for factory bass rolloff to improve bass performance, especially with most factory installed sound systems. The circuit has two rotary controls: Threshold lets you dial in the level at which the AccuBASS will begin to work, while the Level control raises or lowers the level of AccuBASS compensation. A slide switch allows the AccuBass feature to quickly be Enabled or Disabled.

• ACR-1 Remote: The optional AudioControl ACR-1 wired remote (sold separately) lets you adjust the subwoofer output level from the driver's seat. The remote level control comes with a 20' cable, terminating in an RJ-14 jack that plugs into the amp, and is designed to be mounted under a dash for easy access while driving.

• Maximum Input Level Control (MILC): The amplifier analyzes the input signal to detect any clipping. If the signal reaches the level of clipping, the MILC Source Clip LED lights red, prompting you to turn down the gain level. When the gain level is maximized, a green Maximized LED will light to indicate the gain is set to the optimum level.

• GTO (Great Turn On) Signal Sense: If you are connecting the amplifier to a factory stereo or an aftermarket unit without a remote turn-on lead, the GTO Signal Sense circuitry can turn on the amplifier when an audio signal is detected on either the line-level or speaker-level inputs. After a period of time with no signal input, the amp will turn itself off. An On/Off slide switch is provided on the amp activate the GTO Signal Sense feature.

• Connections: The LC-1.1500 features the following connections:

  • Power / Ground / Turn-on: The amp features set screw terminals for the +12V, ground, and turn-on leads. The power and ground terminals will accommodate up to 1/0 AWG wire. The terminals can be tightened/loosened with a Phillips-head screwdriver (not included). The manufacturer recommends 0- to 2-gauge wire. A 160A fuse should be placed on the power wire within 18" of the positive battery terminal. The set screw turn-on lead terminal will accept up to 8-gauge wire and requires a Phillips-head screwdriver. Typically, an 18-gauge wire is sufficient for the remote turn-on lead.
  • Line Inputs: A pair of RCA jacks is provided for connecting the amp to the source unit.
  • Speaker Level Input: A 4-pin Euroblock (or Phoenix) connector is provided for the speaker-level input. The connector can be removed for easier wiring. The screw terminals on the connector require a small Phillips-head screwdriver. The left and right audio signals are summed internally to produce a mono subwoofer signal.
  • Speaker Outputs: Four set-screw terminals are provided to connect the amp to the subwoofer, or multiple subwoofers. The combined speaker impedance should not dip below 2 ohms. The terminals are wired internally in parallel.
  • Level Control: The optional ACR-1 remote control plugs into the provided RJ14 terminal.

   

• Controls: The LC-1.1500's controls are located under a protective panel that can easily be removed with the included 2.5mm Allen key. A flat-head screwdriver (not included) is needed to adjust the rotary controls which include the AccuBass and GTO settings, a Low-Pass crossover with a range from 30 Hz to 230 Hz, a Polarity switch with 0 or 180, and LED indicators for Power and Protection.

• DM Smart DSP: The D-4.800 includes a micro USB (Type-B) port to connect to a laptop (USB Type-A to micro-B cable included, allowing you to use AudioControl's DM Smart DSP app. This is a fully featured Matrix DSP interface designed to give you control over every aspect of the processor. Features include routing any input to any output, gain adjustment, delay, polarity, and a 30-band EQ. High-pass, low-pass, and band-pass filtering can be set up for any output using 12 or 24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley crossovers. It also includes RTAs (Real Time Analyzer) for every input and output to easily identify and sum factory speaker signals for OEM integration.

• Top Panel: Underneath the removable protective panel are the GTO on/off switch, labeling for all of the input/output connections, and the following LED indicators:

  • Power: If the amp is powering on correctly, this should be lit green.
  • Protection: The amp has built-in diagnostic codes to tell you exactly what is going wrong if the amp detects a problem. Both the Protection and Power LEDs can flash certain codes indicating where the problem is. A chart of these is provided in the Quick-start guide.
  • Communications LED: This LED lights when there is USB activity between the amp and your computer during set up.
  • Maximized Input LEDs: These LEDs illuminate when a maximum audio signal is present on any of the analog audio inputs. Signal levels should be lowered if these LEDs are on a lot. Three LEDs are provided covering: Front High, Front, and Rear.
  • Maximized Output LEDs: These LEDs illuminate when there is maximum signal present on any of the audio outputs. Signal levels should be lowered if these LEDs are on a lot. Two LEDs are provided, one each for Outputs 1/2 and 3/4.
  • MILC Source Clip LED: The MILC (Maximum Input Level Control) level-setting circuit prevents clipping and distortion. It calculates when the waveform of an incoming signal on input 1 or 2 is clipping and lights this LED. The level of the incoming signal should be set just prior to MILC LED coming on.

   

• Connections: The D-4.800's connections are aligned along the front of the amplifier for ease of installation. The amp's connections include:

  • Fuses: Two 40-amp ATO blade-type fuses are installed in the amplifier.
  • Power: Set-screw terminals are provided for connecting +12V Power, Ground, and Remote In. The Power and Ground terminals will accept 8 to 4-gauge wire, while the Remote In terminal accepts up to 6-gauge. An 80A fuse should be placed in-line on the power wire, no more than 18" from the battery.
  • Line Level Inputs: Two pairs of RCA jacks are provided for connecting the amp to the source unit via RCA cables.
  • Line Level Output: One pair of RCA jacks for feeding the signal to another amplifier.
  • Speaker Level Input: Three sets of removable Phoenix (or Euroblock) connectors are provided for connecting the source unit via speaker-level input. The connectors are labeled Front High (for tweeters), Front, and Rear.
  • ACR-3 Control: This RJ-14 telephone-type connection allows you to plug in the optional ACR-3 Remote. The ACR-3 is used to change the output level and for recalling memory presets.
  • USB: A micro-USB (Type-B) is used for connection to a computer for DSP configuration.
  • Speaker Output: Two removable Phoenix connectors are provided for connecting speaker wire. The amplifier will accept a load impedance of 2Ω or higher in stereo (4Ω or higher when bridged).
  • Option Port: A multi-pin input is used with an optional AC-BT24 Bluetooth module (sold separately). This allows both audio streaming from a Bluetooth enabled device, as well as configuration and control via the DM Smart DSP app.

Both use a 3-position switch to change the crossover point with a choice of 80 Hz, 100 Hz, or Bypass. The amp also incorporates a built-in PFM subsonic crossover at 32 Hz.

• AccuBASS: The patented AccuBASS processing circuit compensates for factory bass rolloff to improve bass performance, especially with most factory installed sound systems. The circuit has two rotary controls: Threshold lets you dial in the level at which the AccuBASS will begin to work, while the Level control raises or lowers the level of AccuBASS compensation. A slide switch allows the AccuBass feature to quickly be Enabled or Disabled.

• ACR-1 Remote: The optional AudioControl ACR-1 wired remote (sold separately) lets you adjust the subwoofer output level from the driver's seat. The remote level control comes with a 20' cable, terminating in an RJ-14 jack that plugs into the amp, and is designed to be mounted under a dash for easy access while driving.

• Maximum Input Level Control (MILC): The amplifier analyzes the input signal to detect any clipping. If the signal reaches the level of clipping, the MILC Source Clip LED lights red, prompting you to turn down the gain level. When the gain level is maximized, a green Maximized LED will light to indicate the gain is set to the optimum level.

• GTO (Great Turn On) Signal Sense: If you are connecting the amplifier to a factory stereo or an aftermarket unit without a remote turn-on lead, the GTO Signal Sense circuitry can turn on the amplifier when an audio signal is detected on either the line-level or speaker-level inputs. After a period of time with no signal input, the amp will turn itself off. An On/Off slide switch is provided on the amp activate the GTO Signal Sense feature.

• Controls: The LC-1.800's controls are located under a protective panel that can easily be removed with the included 2.5mm Allen key. A flat-head screwdriver (not included) is needed to adjust the rotary controls which include the AccuBass and GTO settings, a Low-Pass crossover with a range from 30 Hz to 230 Hz, a Polarity switch with 0 or 180, and LED indicators for Power and Protection.

• Speaker Input: The speaker level inputs are compatible with most factory stereo systems. They will accommodate from 3 to 40 volts RMS per channel (equivalent to 400 watts at 4Ω).

• Channel Summing: The four pair of speaker level inputs can be combined to create a single stereo signal, useful when factory tweeters, midrange, woofers, etc. are actively crossed over.

• Maximum Input Level Control (MILC): The MILC circuit analyzes the input signal to detect any clipping. If the signal reaches clipping level, the MILC Source Clip LED glows, prompting you to turn down the source level.

• Gain Maximized LEDs: Three LEDs indicate when the amplifier gain for each set of output channels has been maximized for optimum performance.

• AccuBASS: The AccuBASS processing circuit compensates for factory bass rolloff to improve bass performance. • Controls: All the controls are located under a removable protective panel. The included 2.5mm Allen wrench is needed for removing the panel during setup. A small flat-head screwdriver (not included) is needed to adjust the rotary controls. The amp's controls include:

  • GTO Signal Sense: On/Off
  • Front Channels (1/2):
    • Front High Level: rotary control; adjusts the level of the Front High speaker-level input, to balance with the primary front speaker level inputs when both are used
    • Crossover Range: 3-position switch; sets the crossover frequency adjustment range; choose High, Low, or Off (crossover is bypassed); both the high and low settings are a high-pass crossover, they just have different adjustment ranges
    • HP Crossover Frequency: rotary control; sets the high-pass crossover point; range depends on the Crossover Range switch setting, Low is 30-300 Hz and High is 500 Hz-5 kHz
    • Mode: 2-position switch; mono (when bridging channels 1/2) or stereo
    • Gain: rotary control; adjusts the gain of channels 1/2
  • 1/2 - 3/4 Bus Sum: 2-position switch; choose Sum (combine inputs 1/2 and 3/4 so one pair of inputs can feed all four outputs) or Separate (outputs 1/2 and 3/4 each use their dedicated inputs)
  • Channels 3/4:
    • Crossover Type: 3-position switch; choose High-Pass, Off (crossover is bypassed), or Band-Pass (both high-pass and low-pass crossovers are engaged)
    • High-Pass Crossover Frequency: rotary control; 30-300 Hz
    • Low-Pass Crossover Frequency: rotary control; 500 Hz-5 kHz
    • Mode: 2-position switch; mono (when bridging channels 3/4) or stereo
    • Gain: rotary control; adjusts the gain of channels 3/4
  • 3/4 - 5/6 Bus Sum: 2-position switch; choose Sum (combine inputs 3/4 and 5/6 so one pair of inputs can feed the rear and sub outputs) or Separate (outputs 3/4 and Subwoofer each use their dedicated inputs)
  • AccuBASS: AccuBASS enhances the bass performance of the subwoofer output
    • Enable/Disable: 2-position switch; turn the circuit on/off
    • Threshold: rotary control; controls the level at which AccuBASS begins to work
    • Level: rotary control; adjusts the level of AccuBASS output
  • Channel 5 (Subwoofer):
    • Crossover Frequency: rotary control; sets the low-pass crossover point (the low-pass crossover on the subwoofer channel cannot be bypassed); 30-300 Hz
    • Gain: rotary control; adjusts the gain of the subwoofer channel
  • LED Indicators: six LEDs on the top panel let you know the status of the amp
    • Power: lights green when amp powers on correctly
    • Protection: lights red when the protection circuit engages; built-in diagnostic codes indicate what's wrong when the amp detects a problem; a chart of these codes is in the Quick-start guide
    • MILC Source Clip LED: lights when the signal on input 1/2 is distorting; the level of the incoming signal should be set just below this point
    • Maximized 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6 LEDs: three LEDs; flash to indicate when the amp's gain is distorting the output; gain for each output (channels 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6) should be lowered until the LED no longer blinks

   

• Connections: All the connections are aligned along the front of the amplifier for ease of installation; they include:

  • Fuses: four 30-amp ATO blade-type fuses installed

    • Crossover Type: The rear channel crossover can be set to low pass (LP) or high pass (HP) with this 2-way switch.
      • Note: The crossover for channels 3+4 is high pass or low pass only; it cannot be bypassed and there is no full range setting.
    • Crossover Frequency: Rotary control to set the cutoff frequency of the crossover for Channels 3+4. The control is variable from 30 Hz to 300 Hz.
